The main objective of the BioBus science curriculum is to teach scientific thinking skills through experiments performed on the microscope. Students learn how to learn about the natural world through scientific experimentation with living cells from the surrounding environment.
There are two basic tracks for teaching on the BioBus. A brief introduction to cell biology and the bus is provided for younger students and in situations where time is limited. However, a multiple day short-course is provided when possible for maximum educational impact. In the short-course, students have the chance to prepare their own samples, perform their own experiments, and practice scientific problem solving skills.
